So why did Anakin turn evil?
Anakin turned to the dark side of the force “to save Padme’s life.”
Anakin was having visions (in his sleep) of his beloved wife, Padme, dying in childbirth. Though these visions ultimately came true, Anakin couldn’t see the events that led UP to her death!
He was determined to protect her and save her from death (to make up for the fact that he couldn’t save his mother as a child).
Chancellor Palpatine (the evil sith lord Darth Sidious) used Anakin’s fear and convinced him that the power of the dark side was the ONLY way for him to save Padme.
